Bad Credit Cell phones
If you’re having trouble getting bad credit cell phones and mobile phone contracts, you’ve likely noticed that these can be kind of hard to apply and then be accepted for. Usually a typical credit check is required when trying to get a monthly based mobile phone contract. So given today’s economic times, what are people to do when their credit has been so severely damaged? Fortunately, there a lot of different online retail outlets and even traditional storefront outlets that offer bad credit cell phones and bad credit cell phone plans regardless of your personal credit history or lack of credit. This is primarily due to the fact that so many people have been affected by the economic crisis across the globe and will likely be affected for some time in the future, cell phone companies still very much still need to stay in business and are now offering more flexible and nontraditional options for these customers.
A new customer will more often than not find that there are two basic bad credit cell phone plans and structures. One of these types of cell phone plans is what’s known as a “no credit check required” or “cell phones bad credit” system. The other type of cell phone system that companies have started to provide will do a credit check of sorts but have a lower credit approval score standard for the applications and may ask for a security deposit upfront.
The good thing about the cell phone companies that don’t ask you to go through credit check is that you basically have guaranteed acceptance and approval for your bad credit cell phones. The downside to this type of plan is that they can still be very expensive and are often very restrictive in the ways and times you can use the cell phone. If you’ve ever had to go through the horrible experience of applying for mortgages or car loans when you have poor credit, you will likely have noticed that these too often are very expensive programs. These cell phone bad credit service plans are much the same way in that you pay much higher rate than would normally be the case for folks with better credit histories. Even having said all this though, you may still be very tempted to try this option, but there is some facts to keep in mind when doing so:
- You will be limited in your choice of phone models
- You will likely have to pay a much higher monthly fee for all services like text messaging and other monthly fee based services.
- You’ll probably be required to sign a much longer service contract.
- Your interest rates on a cell phone with bad credit plan would be much higher than would be for traditional rates on cell phone plans
So as you can likely see while these types of plans may be appropriate for some of you, many other folks may want to go with companies that simply acquire a reasonable deposit for the year, but allow you to have much more reasonable monthly rates and interest because of the fact that they have lower standards for credit acceptance and because the deposit fee that you’ve paid. Keep in mind that different companies may have different acceptance standards amongst each other, so would be wise to consider applying to several different competing cell phone providers so that you can get the best deal.
