AT&T Bad Credit

AT&T has become one of the major players in these cell phone service provider industry, this is particularly been spurred on by the fact that it has an exclusive contract-for now with Apple and their ubiquitous iPhone. Because of the fact that so many people are trying to get this particular phone as well as other smart phones that are exclusive to AT&T service, many are looking to get service despite their AT&T bad credit situation. Fact is however, that you’re unlikely to get any service from AT&T if you have very bad credit or no credit at all, but there are some things that you can do to improve your situation should you want to get service with this particular provider.

One of the major requirements to getting any sort of contractually-based service with AT&T is to pay a fairly hefty deposit fee up front, the fees can change here and there and from time to time, but generally most people end up having to pay $400 all the way up to $800 on top of the cost of a phone. Now this is a fantastic option for those of you who have the financial means to make these kind of hefty fees, and if this is the case then this might be the way to go for you. One other thing to keep in mind, is that if you do end up paying your bills every month on time for an entire year then AT&T, like many of the other major service providers, will refund you your entire deposit after years time. They’ll often put this deposit toward your phone account and not in your bank account, but nonetheless you get quite a bit of money back to help pay your future monthly bills.

What this essentially allows you to do is to build up a form of credit history with them, not only does it allow you to build up a credit history with AT&T, but it also builds up your overall credit score as well which could end up helping you in other situations where you might need to have proof of regular and on-time bill paying-even for another cell phone here. Be sure to do plenty of comparison-shopping however, as AT&T isn’t the only major player, and very soon the iPhone and other major smart phones will be available on all major networks so that you won’t be confined to one or two service providers.
